Calling all Kappa Deltas in Virginia and New York - Your Help is Needed!

Kappa Delta Sorority needs your help to pass the Collegiate Housing and Infrastructure Act of 2009 (CHIA), an important law that would make all alumnae donations to our educational foundation available for use as grants to buy, build, and upgrade our chapter houses. This would greatly increases our ability to provide student housing that is modern, attractive, energy efficient, and equipped with the latest fire and life safety infrastructure. So far, CHIA has been co-sponsored by 175 bipartisan members of the House of Representatives and 26 senators. The entire Greek community is working together to achieve a majority in both chambers, and we recently ran this exact campaign in Ohio - directly securing our 26th, and likely 27th, Senate sponsor. You can help add Senators Schumer and Gillibrand from New York and Webb and Warner from Virginia as sponsors in just a few minutes!

On Monday, March 8, all fraternity and sorority alumni in New York and Virginia , including all Kappa Delta Sorority sisters, are asked to take five minutes to contact Senators Schumer (NY), Gillibrand (NY), Webb (VA) and Warner (VA) via their Senate Web sites using the letter below to urge them to sponsor CHIA. Our DC-based public policy team will then followup with the senators directly. By taking just five minutes to cut-and-paste the message belwo to each senators' Web site on March 8, you will make a big difference in our ability to gain their support for CHIA! It worked in Ohio and with your support, it will work in New York and Virginia!

Here’s what we need you to do:

1. If you can participate, please register either on FaceBook at www.facebook.com, or online at www.fraternalcaucus.org so we can keep a tally of how many messages we expect will be sent.
2. New York residents: Visit Senator Schumer's Web site at www.schumer.senate.gov to cut and paste the first message below into the contact form, selecting "taxes/budget" as the topic, and "tax reform" as the issue from the lists, complete the form, and submit. Next, visit Senator Gillibrand's Web site at www.gillibrand.senate.gov to cut and paste the second message below into the contact form, selecting "taxes" from the list of issues, complete the form, and submit.

3. Virginia residents: Visit Senator Warner's Web site at www.warner.senate.gov to cut and paste the first message below into the contact form, selecting "taxes/budget" as the topic, and "tax reform" as the issue from the lists, complete the form, and submit. Next, visit Senator Webb's Web site at www.webb.senate.gov to cut and paste the second message below into the contact form, selecting "taxes" from the list of issues, complete the form, and submit.

That's all it takes - just five minutes - for you to make a big difference in passing CHIA! Thank you so much for your support and participation, and we're looking forward to a successful effort and seeing the senators sign on!
