Christmas Seals

Graphic design major? Aspiring artist? Enjoy doodling? Kappa Delta is requesting your ideas for the annual Christmas Seal contest. Established in 1925, Kappa Delta’s one-of-a-kind Christmas seal program raises funds for the national philanthropies it supports. Each year, alumnae receive Christmas seals designed by a Kappa Delta sister. The designer of the 2009 Christmas Seal is Sarah Adlouni, a 2006 initiate of Zeta Zeta, California State University-San Bernardino.

Once the Christmas seals arrive, Kappa Deltas make their tax-deductible donations to the Kappa Delta Children in Need Fund. This fund supports Prevent Child Abuse America, Girl Scouts of the USA, Children’s Hospital in Richmond, VA, KD Orthopaedic Research Awards, and KiDs Grants.

The guidelines are simple and only Kappa Deltas may enter.
1. Original idea and simple design. (Elaborate designs do not reduce well.)
2. Your submissions should be 4 inches by 5 inches.
3. Artwork should be camera-ready; usually two colors, i.e. red and green or green and black, etc.
4. You may submit as many designs as you desire.
5. Entries should be received no later than April 1, 2010.

Rewards
1. $100 award
2. Article in The Angelos about you and your design.
3. National exposure—more than 100,000 Kappa Deltas across the country will receive the seals with your design and from there will send them on holiday greetings to even more people!

Please submit your camera-ready artwork to Kappa Delta Foundation, 3205 Players Lane, Memphis, TN 38125. The winner will be featured on the website, in the Angelos, in the KD Connection and will win a cash prize. The deadline is April 1, 2010. If you have any questions, contact Kappa Delta. Good luck!
