I'm an honorary board member of RI Community Food Bank, after six years as a board member. With the recession, need is especially great. I volunteer on fund-raising and help recruit restaurants to participate in events. I've helped with food stamp outreach, with cooking demos at a local food pantry and with a Food Bank series filmed at Rhode Island's PBS station, in which a nutritionist from Brown U. and Nancy Barr (Julia Child's chef for TV) demonstrated economical, healthful cooking.
