KDs Rock Their Letters
Here’s a sampling of how Kappa Deltas nationwide “rocked their letters” on April 23:
A Relay for Life event benefiting the American Cancer Society gave Delta Upsilon-Tennessee Tech members an opportunity to “rock their letters” while doing something great! The chapter raised $1,425 at its “KD Candyland” booth. Pictured from left are Erin Chapman, Elizabeth Harley, Brianna Beck, Stephanie Climer, Laura Horton and Becky Foust.
Donna Cary Sibley, Gamma Iota-San Jose State, and KD legacy Helen Sibley have fun together “rocking” KD letters.
Linda Norris Petersen, Gamma Nu-Miami, and Terri Nemeth Morrison, Eta Delta-Wright State, wear their KD letters with pride at the prekindergarten program in Dayton, Ohio, where Linda serves as director/teacher, and Terri is the office manager.
Rock Your Letters Day motivated three former presidents of the Newport Harbor, Calif., alumnae chapter to rekindle their 30-year friendship. From left, Sharon Eighmay Olsen, Beta Lambda-Georgetown; Lil Scott Leslie, Alpha Delta-Rhodes; and Sarah Sharp Allen, Gamma Upsilon-Texas A&M/Commerce, meet in Carlsbad, Calif., for lunch and a tour of the beautiful flower fields where Lil is a docent.
“What a perfect day to rock my KD letters,” says Kimberly Holt Burrell, an Eta Alpha-Texas A&M/College Station initiate who is pictured with the Brownie troop she co-leads in Cypress, Texas. Along with 300 other leaders and Girl Scouts of various ages, Kim and her troop spent the night at the Houston Museum of Natural Science where she says they “examined dinosaur bones, learned about black holes, participated in cool chemical experiments, drooled over the gem exhibit and topped off the night with bedtime snacks and the movie ‘Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.’ Snuggled in sleeping bags,” Kim says, “we slept under Native American art to the sound of beating drums. Although still sleepy, we wrapped up our museum experience the following morning with breakfast and a stroll through the magical butterfly garden. What an amazing adventure for us all- Kappa Deltas and Girl Scouts alike!”
