Kappa Delta is proud to honor Linda Warren, Kappa Alpha – Florida State, as a Kappa Delta Woman of Achievement.
Linda knows a few things about friendships and making dreams come true. Linda served as Executive Vice President, Products and Services Planning and Development for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. In this role, she was responsible for identifying future products and services to meet the evolving needs of Disney guests, and taking advantage of strategic, revenue-generating products and service-based opportunities to promote a seamless operation at each of the Disney Parks and Resorts around the world.
Linda began her Disney employment in 1973 as a college student working summers and holidays in the parks. Starting in 1979, she held various positions in Marketing. She was director of Marketing at Walt Disney World Co. until 1989 when she was appointed executive assistant to Michael Eisner, then chairman and CEO, and Frank Wells, then president and chief operating officer, The Walt Disney Company. In August of 1991, she was promoted to vice president of Corporate Synergy and Special Projects and had responsibility for promoting marketing synergies among all the Disney business units. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in marketing in 1976 and her MBA in 1978.
For over 30 years she has held various positions in marketing and brand management. Her accomplishments include leading the marketing team through Walt Disney World Resort’s highly successful year-long 25th Anniversary, Millennium and 100 Years of Magic milestone celebrations. She was at the marketing helm through the most successful attendance periods in Walt Disney World history. Linda is quoted as saying, “mine is a dream job in that we are marketing a great brand and a great product, and we’re marketing something that makes people happy.”
Currently Linda is working for the Disney organization in a new capacity that gives her flexibility in her schedule to focus on her 87 year old father. Al Weiss, president of Disney Parks and Resorts World Wide Operations says of her, “Linda has a strong track record of leading large, complex organizations and is now looking forward to doing this work while having the flexibility in her schedule that her current circumstances require.” Linda continues to serve on the Heart of Florida United Way Board of Directors, her most recent community volunteer activity.
