Live GREAT:
Be an Ever Loyal KD!
For the past 113 years, Kappa Delta has been encouraging its members to live by the values that our founders established in the Ritual. A few years ago, the sorority introduced the Live GREAT philosophy to help KDs remember these values and be inspired to become women of greatness.
GREAT is an acronym that stands for the following:
Growth through lifetime learning
Responsibility for our own integrity and ethical actions
Engagement in social and civic interests
Altruistic service to others
Truth and loyalty to each other
Through the sorority’s publications and electronic media, we regularly showcase those KDs who are growing in their education and careers and who are making great things happen on our college campuses and in our communities through their responsible actions, engagement in social and civic interests and altruistic service to others.
The time has come to shine the spotlight on those who live the most fundamental of all Kappa Delta values: truth and loyalty to each other. The fall 2010 Angelos will introduce the Ever Loyal program and feature several members who have continued to serve KD as alumnae members, demonstrating their lifelong commitment to the sorority’s values and sisterhood.
The Kappa Delta Foundation created the Ever Loyal program to renew members love for and commitment to the sorority. This voluntary program provides KDs with an opportunity to once again pledge their loyalty to Kappa Delta.
The Ever Loyal pledge will appear in the fall 2010 Angelos. Members are encouraged to sign the pledge card and mail it to Alumnae Services, Kappa Delta National Headquarters, 3205 Players Lane, Memphis, TN 38125. You may also sign the card online at www.inkdandbeyond.org.
All members who have taken the pledge, either online or by sending a signed copy to KD Headquarters, will be added to the Ever Loyal membership list. In addition, members who have signed the pledge are welcome to add “Ever Loyal” after their signatures.
Are You an Ever Loyal KD?
The Angelos staff invites longtime sisters to submit their stories for possible inclusion in the magazine. Tell us about your Kappa Delta experience – your fondest memory, what the sorority has meant in your life, why you value your membership.
