Georgia/South Carolina
“KD on My Mind: Remembering the Past, Planning the Future” will likely stay on the minds of the 140 KDs who attended the Georgia/South Carolina State Day, thanks in part to the introduction of the theme song, “KD on My Mind,” written by alumna Jan Lammert and sung to the tune of “Georgia on My Mind.” The event, held on July 30-31, was hosted by the Greater Atlanta Day alumnae chapter under the direction of co-chairmen Dot Mears and Pat Anderson Tooke and was attended by representatives from Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia Council as well as KDs from eight alumnae chapters and 10 collegiate chapters.
In addition to several high-spirited singalongs, the program featured speakers “Sister Schubert” (Patricia Woods Barnes), National President Beth Martin Langford and National Vice President-Collegians Jody Jenkins Corry, a White Rose Tree table, a silent auction, awards and an ongoing photo presentation.
